Welcome
The Australian Public Service Commission promotes good practice in managing people, supports leadership and learning and development in the Australian Public Service (APS), fosters ethical behaviour and workplaces that value diversity.
We also have an important evaluation role in working with agencies to ensure that the APS is performing effectively and consistently with the APS Values.
The ‘As One—APS Disability employment strategy’
As One aims to change the way we think about disability and set us in motion towards an inclusive workforce where everybody can perform at their best. To get there every agency, leader and employee will need to work together to build a culture that is inclusive of people with disability. As One describes out our approach and plan of action to do just that.
As One was launched on 14 May 2012 by Special Minister of State and Special Minister of State for Public Service and Integrity, the Hon Gary Gray AO MP.

Amendments to the Public Service Act 1999
The Public Service Amendment Bill 2012 was introduced into Parliament on 1 March 2012. The Bill amends the Public Service Act 1999 and implements recommendations from Ahead of the Game: Blueprint for the Reform of Australian Government Administration. At the same time, the opportunity has been taken to make a number of largely technical amendments, consistent with the objectives of the Blueprint, which will improve the operation of the Act and the effective management of the Service.
Information about the Bill, including the ability to track the Bill by e-mail, is available at the Parliament of Australia’s website: Public Service Ammendment Bill 2012.
APS employee survey database — Now available online!
The Australian Public Service Commission seeks the views and perceptions of Australian public servants through an annual employee survey. This survey is an important source of information for the annual State of the Service Report. For the first time, responses to the Australian Public Service employee survey have been made available online. For more information on the 2010-11 employee survey responses, please visit data.gov.au/6075.
