The Australian Public Service (APS) reform program consists of 28 projects based on the recommendations of Ahead of the Game: Blueprint for the Reform of Australian Government Administration (the Blueprint), to which the Government has agreed. These projects will transform the APS’s capabilities and skills base, strategic policy capability, capacity to implement new policies and programs, and its culture and efficiency.
Progress of the reform program has been substantial. Implementation of all 28 Blueprint recommendations is either complete or substantially underway. As a result, the reform program is well positioned to deliver tangible results in 2012.
The projects will affect everyone in all areas and levels of the APS, in the key areas for which we are responsible: meeting citizens’ needs, providing strong leadership and strategic direction, developing our capabilities, and working efficiently and at a consistently high standard.
We will use this website to keep you posted on developments in individual projects in these areas; on work commissioned by the Secretaries Board, especially through the APS200; as well as on the reform agenda as a whole. We will include advice on who to contact for more information.
As those most directly involved in experiencing and delivering change through the reform program, we want your advice and comments on improving this site. Please contact us using the feedback button on the right to tell us how.
