Christine Hoy (Greechan)

Christine HoyHI - My name is Christine Hoy (Greechan), although I grew up in Broome, I have family spread throughout the Kimberley‘s - Broome, Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Kununurra and most of the surrounding communities. I am the eldest of seven and have six children of my own, four beautiful girls and two wonderful boys, their ages range between 8 and 24.

I commenced work with the Australian Public Service in 1986 with the Department of Social Security. I moved on to the Department of Training, Employment and Industrial Relations In particular, the CES, and the Aboriginal Educational and Training Branch, and later known as Department Employment Education and Training.

I have worked extensively in areas that relate to Aboriginal employment and education and in recent years I have pursued my own interest in Human Resources.

My current role is as Human Resource Officer in the Learning and Development section of the People Strategies Group in AQIS (Australian Quarantine Inspection Service), where I also contribute to the recruitment portfolio with particular interest in Aboriginal recruitment.  I have also been involved with the Australian Public Service Commission's recruitment process for the Indigenous Entry Level Traineeships.

I look forward to being involved in a network that strives to support and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait APS employees in their workplace.
