EL Leadership Network

Steering Group

The Commission co-ordinates and currently chairs the Network. Volunteers from various agencies make up a Steering Group to oversee the Executive Level Leadership Network process including decisions on topics, speakers and overall directions.

The members of the 2011 Steering Group are:

Program overview

With the new work health and safety laws due to commence on 1 January 2012, a panel of speakers will explore how designing healthy and safe workplaces prevents harm and promotes health and wellbeing through the participation of workers.

Strong evidence recognises work is generally good for health and wellbeing, and that long-term absence, disability and unemployment generally have a negative impact on health and wellbeing. Good work can have a positive impact by providing financial security, social inclusion, personal development, friendship, self-esteem and protection from physical and psychosocial harm. By providing a healthy and safe work environment and promoting the health benefits of fair and decent work we can deliver stronger federal workplaces and improve participation for those with a disability or ill health.
