Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)
Program Delivery
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) enables people to deliver training in an industry area or area of subject matter expertise, and to conduct competency-based assessments in a range of contexts.
This unique learning pathway is designed especially to enhance the careers of trainers and assessors in the Australian Public Service and is ideally suited to new and developing trainers and assessors. The program places a strong emphasis on training effectively in the APS environment and enhances trainers and assessors understanding of the Public Sector Training Package. The program will challenge participants to be a successful trainer and assessor.
Program overview
The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment has been designed to run over a seven month period.
The programme consists of 12 modules and 2 assessment days for facilitating group based learning. The 12 modules cover the three learning fields:
- Learning Design
- Delivery and Facilitation
- Assessment
as well as workplace-relevant assignments and challenging simulated activities based on the Public Sector Training Package and the Integrated Leadership System.
Participant Benefits
On successful completion of the programme participants will be awarded the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment consisting of the following units of competency from the Training and Assessment Training Package:

- TAEDEL404A Mentor in the workplace
- TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes
- TAEASS402B Assess competence
- TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation
