Certificate IV in Government (PSP40104)
The Australian Public Service Commission (the Commission) is a Registered Training Organisation and can award APS employees nationally recognised qualifications
This unique learning pathway will enhance the careers of Australian public servants and is ideally suited to those working without close supervision and generally demonstrating a range of skills rather than a particular speciality. The program emphasizes the development of job skills required for effective performance in the APS environment and supports growth and career progression.
Program overview
The program uses a combination of the following quality Commission training sessions:
- APS Induction
- Upholding and supporting the APS Values and Code of Conduct
- Legislation and APS decision-making
- Financial skills (introduction)
- Essential writing for APS 1-4 levels
- Confident communication skills
- Enhancing your performance in the APS
- Assess your leadership capabilities
- APS job applications and interview skills
- Conflict resolution
- Policy development workshop
Relevant workplace assignments and challenging simulated activities will complement these training sessions.
