Policy implementation
Achieving the best results from public policy decisions is a key skill area for APS employees involved in policy formulation, advice and implementation. This program details the challenges and methodologies of policy implementation from planning to delivery and will increase your ability to monitor, measure and evaluate policy in progress.
Program overview
- exploring and discussing contemporary issues affecting APS policy implementation
- recognising and interpreting the requirements of the Cabinet Implementation Unit in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
- identifying and interpreting best practice implementation planning, resourcing, monitoring, evaluating, sustaining and learning
- exploring tools and techniques for transforming policy decisions into services and outcomes
- managing stakeholder expectations
- developing skills and behaviours to lead policy implementation
