Responding to questions on notice and preparing question time briefs are an integral part of the work of many Australian Public Service (APS) employees. This program provides you with the essential skills to handle this high profile communication process with confidence.
Program overview
- identifying the key elements to be addressed and procedures to be followed when responding to questions on notice (QONs) and preparing question time briefs (QTBs)
- researching the purpose, background and theme of these documents
- applying the appropriate structures in the development of these documents
- drafting responses in accordance with the guidelines and protocol required by the Minister’s office
- working effectively with Ministers’ offices and other key stakeholders
- using the correct format, structure, style and tone for effective impact
