Supporting staff with mental health issues
Supporting staff with mental health issues is part of the Australian Public Service (APS) commitment to building awareness and understanding of mental health issues in the workplace. This program provides you with skills, advice, assistance and support required when working with people living with emotional and psychological illness. This program aligns with the Australian Public Service Commission publication Ability at work: Tapping the talent of people with a disability.

- confidently engaging in discussion and offering support
- effectively managing return to work situations
- interacting with medical professionals and obtaining meaningful reports
- discussing the range of options and support mechanisms
- examining ways to look after your own well being and how to seek support
- managing and increasing team cohesiveness
- developing a more open and inclusive workplace
