The Leader to Leader series provides an opportunity for members of the Senior Executive Service (SES) to hear from Heads of Departments and Agencies on their leadership experiences and challenges in the context of public sector reforms. This event also provides senior Australian Public Service (APS) leaders with a valuable opportunity to meet and network with their colleagues.

Join the Australian Public Service Commission in welcoming Dr Martin Parkinson PSM, Secretary of the Treasury.
Dr Parkinson will discuss recent initiatives to invest in the future leadership and effectiveness of the Treasury, including the emphasis placed on gender diversity.
About the speaker
Dr Martin Parkinson PSM commenced as Secretary to the Treasury on 7 March 2011. As Secretary, he is Chair of the Standard Business Reporting Board and Chair of the Advisory Board of the Australian Office of Financial Management.
He is also a member of the Board of the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Board of Taxation, the Board of Infrastructure Australia and the Council of Financial Regulators.
Dr Parkinson previously served as Secretary of the Department of Climate Change from its establishment on 3 December 2007. As Secretary of the Department of Climate Change (and, subsequently, the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency), Dr Parkinson contributed to the development of Australia’s climate change policies, led engagement with business and community groups, and established a new department with policy development, program design and management, service delivery and regulatory responsibilities.
