Being Professional in the APS—Values Resources for Facilitators
The Being Professional in the APS—Values Resources for Facilitators kit is the first comprehensive package of materials to address situations specific to the APS. It enables APS agencies (or their agents) to build their own programmes that will guide employees in decision-making and workplace discussion of the APS Values and the Code of Conduct. A table of contents is available below.
The kit has been designed to:
- make the APS Values ‘come alive’ in an entertaining way
- address workplace situations that are specific to the APS
- convey the Public Service Commissioner’s key messages about building a values-based culture in the APS.
The materials have been developed for facilitators to tailor the activities and workshop programmes to best meet the participants’ needs; be it participants at different levels of responsibility, participants in regional APS service delivery and other roles, employees new to the APS or more experienced members of the SES. These materials align with the Public Sector Training Package.
The materials in the kit aim to demonstrate how, for all of us in the public service, the APS Values and Code of Conduct are signposts that not only guide our own behaviour, but also help us to manage the key relationships that make up our working lives.
The kit was released in late 2005 via a series of roll-out sessions to which all APS agencies were invited. Additional kits are available for purchase at $160 each. The kit is available in hard copy only (see the order form below).
