In October, the Public Service Research Group, led by UNSW, released their Future of Work Report for the public service. The report looks at how the public sector will need to change and adapt their workforce in a post-pandemic world, and draws light on issues and considerations likely to be significant factors moving forward.
The report launch webinar featured presentations from a number of public service leaders including Head of APS HR Profession Jacqui Curtis. Joining her will be Deputy Director-General, Workforce Capability and Governance for the ACT Government, Damian West, who builds strategies for the ACTPS to enhance workforce capability, particularly in supporting new opportunities and priorities. The panel also featured Dr Sue Williamson, from the Public Service Research Group who is a Senior Lecturer at UNSW, who has focused her recent research on working from home during the pandemic and how public sector employees responded.
Together, they spoke on what the future of work in the public sector looks like, and what new ways of working are emerging in an increasingly hybrid workplace environment.
The webinar was held on 11 October 2021 – keep an eye on the socials for more info if you missed it.
