The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) is preparing the State of the Service Report (SOSR) 2022-23 and we want to include stories from across the service on how Australian Public Service (APS) teams are serving the community.
The SOSR is a statutory requirement under section 44 of the Public Service Act1999.
APS Commissioner Gordon de Brouwer’s first State of the Service Report is expected to be tabled in the Australian Parliament in November 2023.The report will offer:
an overview of developments impacting the operating environment of the APS
analysis of how the APS workforce and workplaces are evolving, supported by research and data insights
consideration of APS capability, leadership and integrity issues, trends and responses
stories of how the APS is serving the Australian community in innovative ways
exploration of how the APS is improving its approaches and preparing for the future.
Share your story
We looked for stories from APS teams who have served the community in innovative ways to include as case studies in the SOSR 2022-23.
Stories will showcase:
new ways you have served the community
collaboration across the service and/or with community, industry or research partners.
An online form was available from 24 July to 14 August. This is now closed.
Thank you to everyone across the APS who put forward a proposal for a story.
The State of the Service team will shortlist the stories and engage with shortlisted contributors and their agencies on further development and appropriate clearances. This will take place from mid August to mid September.
Staff case studies featured in the report will receive a personal letter from the APS Commissioner and a printed copy of the State of the Service Report 2022-23.
