The Australian Public Service Commission has launched a new digital tool that will help you find new opportunities to expand your experience and data skills.
A mobility-focused jobs board is now available on APSJobs. It will advertise temporary moves (secondments, temporary transfers or micro-assignments) to current Commonwealth employees.
- Temporary mobility opportunities are a great way for staff to build new skills and contribute to APS-wide priorities, without leaving their agency.
- APS employees say poor visibility of opportunities is a barrier to mobility.
- In the 2021 APS Employee Census, 21% of APS employees said they did not know how to find out about specific opportunities.
- In the 2020 APS Employee Census, 62% of those who’d taken a move found out about it through word of mouth.
- APSJobs has more than 2 million visitors a year, making it the ideal platform to promote mobility.
- Managers who need secondees rather than permanent employees or have to stand up a new team in a hurry.
- Employees looking for an opportunity to try something new and build their skills and experience while maintaining their permanent position.
Searching for data opportunities is now even easier. APSJobs has added Data to the list of job categories you can use to search both temporary opportunities and regular vacancies on the site. Sign in to APSJobs to set up a saved search today and see what is on offer.
If you have an opportunity that you’d love to see shared, speak to your agency recruitment team today. If you have any questions about the jobs board please email mobility@apsc.gov.au
