The Data Profession Members’ Community Platform is now live!
The platform is an online hub for Data Professionals, and offers members the opportunity to network, collaborate and develop capability in a peer learning environment. A key feature of the platform are Communities of Practice that are set up by members, for members. There are currently nine Communities of Practice (CoP) operating on the platform covering a range of areas of interest within the data environment. Today we are highlighting three of these communities. If you would like to check out any of the communities below, or see what other communities are available, follow this link to sign up to the platform[i] today. Australian Data Network The Australian Data Network (ADN) Community of Practice is a forum where Commonwealth, state and territory data practitioners can engage, collaborate and learn within a professional community. The purpose of the platform is for data professionals to broaden their networks and learn from each other’s experience. In doing so, visibility and trust is built across the federation, breaking down information and data silos. The Network aims to continually improve data sharing between the Australian Government and state and territory governments. Through the ADN you’ll be able engage in discussions, find events, and discover learning resources to increase your data capabilities. There will be opportunities to share information on your projects and data practices, and to connect with others to discuss and source solutions to data sharing barriers. All government data practitioners are welcome – once your Data Profession member’s community registration is approved, navigate to the ‘Communities’ tab and ‘request to join’ the Australian Data Network ! Graduate Data Network This Community allows graduates to advocate for better data use, analysis, and capability across the public service. It aims to drive better policy, program, and corporate delivery outcomes across the APS and for the benefit of all Australians. It is a space for graduates to develop their data skills, make valuable connections, and keep up to date with the latest grad-related news and events. Fraud Analytical Detection The Fraud Analytical Detection Community of Practice has been created for analytical people focused on data driven methods for detecting fraud and compliance concerns. It aims to connect people detecting fraud across the APS for discussion, learning and success sharing. This community will hold knowledge sharing sessions based on member interest, and members can post questions and information to share. The community kicked-off with its first gathering on 30 September.
