Racism. It Stops with Me
On 12 July, the Australian Human Rights Commission launched their Racism. It Stops with Me campaign. The campaign aims to support Australians to strengthen their understanding of racism and to take action to address it.
We encourage you to follow the link to the campaign website, and download the supporter kit. The kit is a terrific communications resource for you to amplify the campaign through your agency.
The campaign is an important offering from the AHRC and will play a vital role in progressing the conversation on race and racism in Australia.
Workplace Cultural Diversity Tool
Within the Racism. It Stops with Me campaign website you can find the newly launched AHRC Workplace Cultural Diversity Tool.
The Tool has been designed based on international best practice and aims to support Australian organisations to strengthen their approach to cultural diversity, inclusion and anti-racism in the workplace. Users answer 52 questions across 10 Good Practice Areas relating to cultural diversity and anti-racism good practice. Once completed, users are provided with detailed results, indicating areas in which they have performed well, and where there is room for improvement. The Tool then provides access to a number of resources tailored to address the areas in which the user requires the most attention.
The Tool is free, confidential, and can be used repeatedly over time to track progress. It also contains good practice case studies from a range of sectors and variously sized organisations, to demonstrate practical steps that can be taken to improve cultural diversity and inclusion in the workplace..
We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the Tool and take it for a run. The APSC will not have access to the results, and may engage with agencies over the coming months to identify if the Tool was accessed, and how the results may have been used to prioritise cultural diversity activities.
