The First Nations Unit are in the discovery phase of designing an APS-wide First Nations Employee Value Proposition (EVP) in genuine partnership with the Community Controlled Sector through the Coalition of Peaks.
The EVP aims to showcase the opportunities First Nations people have within the APS and better position the APS as an employee of choice for First Nations staff. This EVP will fit underneath the Whole of APS EVP.
This project will involve establishing a cross-agency project group to understand the current positives and identify challenges of First Nations staff working across the APS. The intent of this project is to identify what the tangible and intangible benefits that influence people to join/or stay with the APS and to highlight why the APS is a good option for First Nations people to find employment.
The project will also enable the First Nations Unit to better understand the pain points to explore meaningful solutions to continually improve the cultural capability and cultural safety across the wider-APS.
